Long shot here but when I first got my wagon it would start fine cold and all but refuse to start hot. I checked everything that could wear out and go bad and ended up fixing several issues. The problem wasn't fixed and it was easily taking 30 seconds plus of cranking to start the car hot.
After much grief I eventually got to the root of the problem. I was looking for something that failed or went bad but the problem was caused by someone previously messing with something they shouldn't.... the air horn plate. At some point the bolt had been loosened and the plate was off center when tightened. This caused the plate to hang up in the air horn before returning to the zero position. In turn this caused a little extra fuel to be delivered at cranking speed. This was ok on a cold engine but was flooding out the hot engine. Once started the plate was pulled past this position in normal running making this a very difficult diagnosis. After I centered the air horn plate the car started well hot or cold. Like I said its a long shot but make sure the air horn plate deflects smoothly without touching the air horn bore at all.

I am 99% certain it's a faulty crank sensor.
