spark plug wire diagram, help!

Help! I recently replaced my spark plugs and wires on my 1991 300E 4Matic, 103 engine 2960cc. It was idling smoothly before i did this and very rough after. I was sure i connected the wires to the proper points on the distributor, but...... does anybody know the diagram for the wires to distributor. ie: cylinder number and from which end of engine they are numbered and the connection for each on the distributor cap? I just need to know i have it right before looking for something else. Thanks

How it's run? just rough in idelling? or lack of power when driving? when u step on the gas, any things like knocking? if the timming seem alright, and drive alright, the rough idelling might not cause by the wrong ignition lead order..

but I am sorry to tell u that I don't know the order of the lead... sorry...

Here's a view of the dist. cap as seen from the front. Hope my "sketch" is clear enough.

Well give me a big "F" for that mess! I'll try and use text this time.

#6 is in lower left corner
#2 is just above # 6 and slightly to the right
#4 is just above # 2 and also more to the right
#1 is more to the right of #4 - across the way
#5 is just below #1 and more to the right
#3 is in the lower right hand corner.

Left and right designations are made as seen from the front of car.

The fun part is getting all six wires in the wire strips so that the lower and upper end of the wire strips will connect correctly. This is more of a cosmetic issue.

If you changed/regapped plugs, you may have accidently "bumped" one of the electrodes upon reinstallion. I did this once and had a lousy idle and a miss once underway.

Sorry for the lousy sketch.
