Bapmic autoparts

Anyone have any experience with this company? They have their headquarters in Germany and plants in Germany, China, and U.S. Just received a pair of strut boots from them....package from Germany, stamped made in Germany.

Never heard of them. Are they a store or a manufacturer? Probably not a store of consequence if the site filter lets you post their name. I’m curious why you buy first, ask questions later :P

Just strut boots. Ended up having some money on my Amazon account from a gift card refunded and no longer had the gift card so I could only spend on Amazon because I had saved the card to my account.

Bapmic

I replaced the three cam plugs and the centrifuge cover on my wife’s E350 using Bapmic parts ordered from Pelican. They seemed comparable to the original parts I removed when making the repair. Given the low price of the parts and the fact that the job is an easy one I can do in my garage, I felt justified in deviating from OEM. So far I’m pleased....but it has only been about a month since the repair.

Have not checked on their subsidiary locations or whether they are a pass-through company which contracts parts from various sub-suppliers in various locations.

This would explain a HQ in China and a manufacturing location in Germany.

Sorry, they are a subsidiary of Shanghai Tongzhi Auto Parts Co., Ltd. according to their international business filings.

So a Chinese owned company with a hq in Germany and a manufacturing plant in Germany?!?

sixto 01-27-2018 11:32 AM

I’m tempted to think with a postal address in Germany or at most a packaging site. Uro has/had an unmappable German address.

Legally, the "made in" designation only describes the country where the last manufacturing operation was performed, however trivial that operation may be. The country of origin label has become very misleading as companies globalize manufacturing. Even so, boxing isn't legally considered manufacturing and shouldn't change the origin.

Company is actually owned by large parent company Sourcemost International located in Germany. Sourcemost

Follow up

Just to follow up..... The breather cover seems to be holding up okay but the cam plugs started sleeping less than two months after installing them. I went to MB-Austin this morning, got three new plugs, and installed them this afternoon. Comparing the parts, the MB version was definitely more “formidable;” the rubber sealing portion of the plug was definitely larger and the parts fit much better on install. At any rate, based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend Bapmic parts.
