exhaust 450 sl (1973)

The exhaust has been completely replaced and the car sounds like a small truck. I cannot find any leaks. I removed the vaccum
advance hose and the car runs much quieter. This can't be the solution, maybe the distributor is bad . Does anyone have any suggestions.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you use OEM (Eberspacher) exhaust components or go with aftermarket replacements? Ansa and Borla exhaust components are considerably louder than their OEM counterparts.

My mechanic just called and said he found the problem. #4 fuel injector was bad, aftermarket wires bad, retimed engine. I hope he's right or he lost a big ticket customer. Will confirm when I pickup car, thanks.
