560 SEL fuse 15
Hi all,
My central locking stopped working, discovered Fuse 15 blowing, blew immediately again after new fuse. This is 1989, the last version of the W126. Thanks! |
Fuse #15:
Trunk lamp, rear dome lamp & reading lamp, automatic antenna, central locking, exit lights, seat adjustment memory. Gen2 W126 - 1986-1991 |
Right, I got that. What is typical to fail? I.e. where should I look first? Trying to reduce diagnostic work...

Don't overlook the reading lights in the rear seat area. When I had that problem it turned out to be one of the lights had shifted and was rubbing on the metal bodywork behind.

If you connect a 55 watt headlight bulb to the contacts in place of the fuse the bulb will light up if you have a dead short. Then you can proceed to unplug components on that circuit. When the bulb goes out you have found the culprit.

I'd check the air pump on the lock system. One in my wagon got so hot it had burned up the board.
