I'm trying to get the dashboard off my 1975 300D.
First, I can't figure out how to remove the idle control knob. Second, I can't figure out how to remove the dash. It just doesn't seem to want to come out of the windshield frame. Do I pull the top up and out or should I pull the bottom out and up? |
Sorry, I have not been graced with the opportunity to do this repair.

After much trial and error, I ahve the answer. The idle control knob pulls straight out with the aid of pliers. To get the dash out, lift the top near the windshield enough to get the screws up out of their holes then move the entire dash forward to clear the bottom. Then lift the passenger side all the way up to the top corner of the windshield to pull out the passenger side of the dash. Remove the entire dash through the passenger door.
