Coolant leak from front of 240D engine

My '79 240D leaves a spot of coolant on the groung after I park it. It's directly below the front crankshaft pulley. Is this like typical American cars that have a "weep hole" in the water pump, and this is telling me I need a new pump? I will verify that it's not just a hose connection before I buy a new pump; I just want to know if these pumps have a hole like that.
Thanks.
