New MB 236.15 Blue Fluid OK for use in 722.6?

As the title says, is there any documentation that states this new blue ATF is safe for 722.6 transmissions? I ask because every variation from 236.10 thru 236.14 has been miscable and the recommended fluid. Is the new stuff following the same path or is it stricktly for new 722.9 transmissions? It's fluid change time, not trying to start another one if those fluid wars just simply asking if it is in writting?

As I recall the blue fluid is for low-friction versions of the 722.9 which started production in 2010-2011 timeframe. Look for an A89 build code on the build card, this indicates the low-friction version of the 722.9 transmission was installed in the car.

The blue stuff (236.15) is NOT backward compatible for regular friction 722.9's or any 722.6.

The 236.14 red stuff is fully backward compatible for any 722.6.

At least that's how I remember it... maybe someone will correct me.

That is way I understand it.

Looks like Valvoline MaxLife it is! Countless people have been using it for a while now with lots of testimonials on all the MB forums, Thanks guy!

that maxlife is some weird ATF - I have seen people using it in BMW 8 spd automatics too.

shifts flawless in those.

Personal experience here - used MaxLife in every 722.6 car I've owned and never had any problems. Even beat on a few of them at the track and none skipped a beat.

Love those testimonials, it's either the MaxLife or the Import Multi-Vehicle, which is just a little thicker, heard the the 722.6 shift smoother on it, but cost more. Can't beat that $18 gallon at Wally world!

Actually ened up going with AMSOIL OE ATF, got a buddy who's a distributer so I got it for $8 a quart. Only reason I got it was it's pretty much the same price as Valvoline IMV. Can't argue with that and it's some good stuff!
