190E manual swap pilot bearing OD is too big?

I have a 1992 190E 2.3 that I am swapping a manual 717.412 transmission into. I have a single-mass flywheel from a 1986 2.3. I also bought a LUK clutch kit for a 1986 car to match the flywheel. Today I tried installing the pilot bearing, and it looks like the OD is too big:

There is some kind of tube adapter at the center of the crank. Do I have to remove it in order to install the bearing? I don't think so because this tube thing centers the flywheel... Did the later cars have a different pilot bearing as the early cars.

I searched a little and apparently the National 202FF bearing is good for all years, but they also say the OD is 1.378" on that one. On the bearing I have, the OD is about 1.75". The store here also lists the same SKF bearing for all years.

That looks like incorrect pilot bearing. Try 115 980 01 15 at the dealer.

.

That pilot bearing you have might be for dual mass flywheel, but I am not sure.

Looks like it's just a regular 6202-2RS bearing. Pretty standard, should be easy to find...

Now what about the installation? I just tap it inside the bore until it is flush with the edge of the bore? What about the retaining ring mentioned in the Haynes? Anybody has a diagram? I cannot find one!

It looks like the part in your top 2 pics is a 6202 bearing in a pot metal / aluminum adapter.

The bearing in your top pic is the wrong part. On our M103 5 speed car with a single mass flywheel I've been pushing them past flush but not all the way using a clutch alignment tool to get an idea of a good depth. It should support the input shaft of the trans. We've been through a couple engines unfortunately so I am too familiar with our setup and I end up about 1/4" in from the top of the crank every time. It shouldn't have any axial loading and ours does not have a snap ring and I am not worried about that.
