Help with Details of a 300D

Help Are the feeler gauges for gap adjustments usually not found in standard parts stores. I bought a sent this morning (26
blades) the .10 and .35 are not to be found. The person at the parts counter felt that I was mistaken with the gap at .35 he thought maybe .035, well he was wrong. Where can I find a set with those gauges in the kit. Also in my haynes manual a cam position refernce for the #1 piston is pretty weak can anyone tell me a little more detail on where the cam should be so that the gap can be set
83 300DT
Thanks in advanced Roboman

Keep in mind that it is .35 mm exh and .10 mm for the intake. Sears has feeler gauges that have inches and mm marked on them. You may have to combine .25 and .20 mm to come up with .35 mm.

Roboman,

The feeler guage from Sears that I use is probably twenty years old, but it has inches and mm marked on every blade. The blades come in thicknesses of 0.001 increments, so you don't get nice even mm values on every one. I would expect they are still available that way.

I use the closest one to the mm value and err when adjusting valves to the large side (I will use a blade that is a half thousanth or more large rather than one that is a half thousandth or more small). Works fine. Good luck, Jim
