control arm bushings
Hi,
I am considering the job of replacing bushings in my upper right control arm. Is it an easy job for the avg. do it your selfer with no special tools? Got back from the mechanic and he wanted to replace the control arm itself, it seems ok, bushings are rotting. Which makes sense? From reading previous threads it seems that just replacing the bushings makes sense. Anyway any replies are appreciated. Thanks in advance. Also any shops recomended in Upper Westchester/Putnam, New York. I like to do some of my own stuff. I'm new to the diesel world and I've fallen in love with the 300d. Dwayne |

If the ball joint is OK, just replace the bushings. Only special tool required is to separate the upper ball joint. I used a small puller. Then use some silicone grease to help the new bushings into place.
If the ball joint is worn, go for the whole arm with bushings. |
