And no the sonnax kit won't fix this issue. The TCC problem does not cause stalling in cold weather.

The torque converter clutch on a 722.6 transmission is unique in its own way as it deapplies by centrifugal force only. This is very commonly known now, when the TCC material wears and becomes a bit sticky you will get this fault - the engine will start and rev perfectly in N and P - but will stall out as soon as a garage shift is applied.
CVC torque converters have the sonnax spring kit in them and work extremely good and eliminate this fault.
Another issue that most people just ignore and think its just a symptom of an old car is the lurching when its shifts ratios from cold, or does a rythmic dance with gear applied and slowly letting go of the brake, This is the torque converter clutch dragging.
With the CVC/sonnax converter the car shifts beautiful (think Aisin warner shift quality and ramp it up twice or thrice) - The car becomes really really nice to drive specially when you get in the range of TCC apply speed.
