Tips for removing trim from w124 dash?
I'm swapping the wood trim out in my car. How do I get the trim out of the dash?
|
I had to remove the center consul wood trim from my 190E 2.6 five-speed about 15 years ago to replace the backup light switch. I lightly pried with a thin putty knife wrapped in masking tape between the edge of the wood and adjacent vinyl trim and it came up. IIRC the wood had attached spring clips that retained it to the consul, so it "poped out" with a little prying force.
I expect the other wood trim pieces are retained the same way. Duke |
Ok thanks. I can try it on the bad wood I'm taking out then. 201s and 124s seem to be built fairly similarly.

I'm pretty sure the dash trim on a W124 has studs not clips, you'll have to remove the nuts first.
