Clear Corners, Amber bulbs?

Hello,

I just put clear corners on the front of my 1990 300e. In order to remain "Legal", I 'm wondering if there are amber bulbs for the turn signal indicators? Anyone know where I can get such an item?

BR,

Richard Colburn

You might want to check out:

I have seen the clear kits in their catalogs before and they may sell the bulbs along with the kits.

You might also try http://www.powerbulbs.com/ and look at the Philips silvervision bulbs - they are silver when off, orange when flashing.

John/all,

The silver vision bulbs are single pole; if you want to retain parking lights, you need a 2 pole bulb. I've not seen a reasonable candidate thus far, so I run amber bulbs

I have had no problems using a 2 stage 1157 bulb in my car front and rear.

I use these xenon orange ones in front, they glow so nicely and rich in color when on.

In the rear I have red ones, with both bulb stages lighting, and they are bright and red. looks good.

Or, at $50/corner, here are 2 contact clear-when-off/orange or red LED replacements for the P21/5 bulbs!

WHOA!

Wow,

That's a lot of information. But all I want is a source for a simple amber bulb that I can put in my front turn signal socket that will work. The simpler the better.

As usual, I'm grateful for any information.

Best Regards,

Richard Colburn

amber bulbs

richard

k-mart,wal mart, any auto parts store stocks the basic amber bulbs.

fwiw i have clear bulbs in my clear indicators and i've never been bothered.

mine are just standard, not hyper white or any of that.

they actually appear "yellowish" when compared to my headlights.

does this answer your question ?

Walmart sells what you're looking for.(GE brand) Don't have a stock # for you but take your current side marker bulb in there and compare it to their amber bulbs. They have about 6 or 7 different kinds.

Good luck!

I have used many different bulbs in my indicators. by far my favorite are the ones I have currently. the faux xenon tint bulbs. they glow very orange in the front when in parking light mode, a very rich orange that looks great.

The rears are the red ones.

You can use a standard 1157 amber bulb in the fronts no problem.

I have used the european and the us bulbs, either one makes no difference. its harder to find the euro two stage in orange at my local parts stores.

I'm happy with my setup now, and I've done blue, red, yellow, and clear in the front. I prefer the orange bulbs now, but the clears looked good too.
