European Headlights on 560SEC

I recently purchased a 88 560SEC, and drove it from California. It had been a while since I drove sealed beam headlights and I forgot how pathetic they are and how dangerous it is, so the first task was to put the euro headlights I had on the jalopy SEC on the good one. I took a few photos during the change over if there is any interest.

yeah, I'm interested...

yeah, I would have liked to have had a good look, too bad the one and only picture of the wiring is such poor focus and not close enough, I can't tell much at all about the color codes going to which location in the plug. Major bummer.

Also, my 1990 560sec has four wires, a double wire brown on one plug, a green wire, a black and yellow striped wire and a white and black striped wire.
The double brown wire seems to be ground and so does the green one. The yellow/black striped seems to be for the low beam and the white/black striped wire seems to be for the high beam. The problem is I haven't had satisfactory results in placing them on the terminals on the headlamp. The results are very dim lighting no matter what combination I have tried.

The wiring is completely different from my W126 sedan so that's no help.

Anyone have any idea how to re-arrange the US spec wiring to work on the Euro headlights?

My best attempts so far have yielded some pretty poor results, the US headlights were far far brighter, nowhere near as bright as the US lights!
