1987 300 TD - Convenience Control Module Location

1987 300 TD (124.193) - looking for the location of the convenience control module (N57) that controls the power windows and sunroof.

On the W124 four door sedan, it is located under the left side of the rear bench seat.

Is it in the same location on the 124 wagon (estate)?

Can't seem to access the electrical component locator in the Electrical Troubleshooting Manual for this vehicle at STAR Tekinfo.

I believe that the location changed in the early 124's. It was originally under the floor mat (at least in the sedan), possibly rear left, but being a terrible location for electronics due to moisture it was moved under the rear seat.

Correction! It was the heated seat module that was initially located under the carpet and later moved under the rear seat, not the convenience module.

87 300TD does not have the convenience control module. Windows and sunroof are just straight wired from switches to motors. Convenience control did not appear until 90 or 91 IIRC.

Agreed, I have yet to find one in my 87td. There are no convenience features in the 87, one touch operation, or auto close features just controls up/down straight wired. If you have operation issues, check fuses, switch and wiring. Many times the switches are gummed up or the door pass through wiring is frayed
