Did early ‘96 E320 have bad engine wiring harness?

I want to say my car is less than the 12,000th car produced, was December of ‘95. Does this car have a bad engine wiring loom? With the erratic idle I have when cold, I must have bad wiring in the ETA, or at least a bad Idle Air/ Cruise control computer and /or a bad engine loom. Cruise has worked intermittently, but not all functions. I assume I have ASR since I have had the yellow triangle pop up when I spin the tires...

How can I tell about the wiring loom? And how about the throttle body?

Thank you in advance.

I would think that a call to your MBZ dealer to give them the VIN of your car and hopefully they are able to tell you if your car has the bad engine wiring loom. Good luck.

The good thing about the ‘96 W210 is that it has OBD2 diagnostics. Scan for codes and post.

MB never made this information available to dealers.

The best way to tell if the engine harness is bad is to simply look at it. The wires are visible near the connections to the air pump switchover valve and coolant temp sensor. No need to cut anything open or unwrap...…

The scores have been sporadic; it Used to give a code for the cruise control computer/ idle stabilizer, but now it doesn’t. When I actually Get a code now, I can’t read what it is, scanner finds no codes even though the light is on.
