95 w124 diesel

Does the diesel suffer from the same wiring that turns to dust? I see a lot of original 95 e300d’s that have a lot of miles on them with no issues

i figured but was hoping Mercedes didn’t do the ecojunk on the diesel

That engine will run even if you remove the battery and disable the alternator too. I have seen cars for sale that had a crumbling wiring, ghosts in the gauge cluster, no idle control because the wiring was crumbled - but the engine ran and the car moves and runs.

According to sellers - the car is "perfect" because it starts, runs and shifts

on a gasoline/benzin car the engine will shut off with bad wiring. The good part is that repairing the wiring on the diesel is very easy as there are not much wires in there.
