300CE suspension mods.

Got the 300CE running again. Now it's time to start with the suspension. The springs were cut by a previous owner and the struts are completely shot. And as you can see from the picture, the car is low, I think it looks pretty good but it ain't that practical, the 16" wheels scrape the wheel well at every turn.

I've found a set of new H&R springs on craigslist and planning to install Bilstein B8's on all four corners. With this setup should I go with 14 or 19mm spacers?

The plan is to make this a canyon carver, but I like to keep it civil.

Are there any other interesting suspension mods out there. I'm told, besides the 500E some W124 models had bigger sway bars.

Maybe just buy some new struts and play around with the spring pad sizes. Are they cut stock springs? If so Those might ride better than a hr set.

After having one coupe on Sportline springs and sway bars with 17" wheels, I sold the springs and swapped just the bars into my other coupe. Couldn't be happier with the stock spring and Sportline sway bar combo.

Yes, the springs are cut. Why would you think the cut stock spring would be a better ride that the H&R?

Because I’ve done both. Hr springs seem a lil harsh vs cut stockers which still has that cushy oe feel. Personally I prefer comfort instead of a car that rides like a Mack truck but to each their own. Hr is a good spring on other cars but didn’t seem that great on a w124

I'm with you, comfort is important. I will play with the different spacers first than.
