W124 alternator issue
 

Hello

I have a issue with my car's alternator, a few days ago it started squeaking when i took it apart i noticed that the pulley was loose, when i put everything back together the alternator didn't charge anymore (it charged when it was squeaking). I did accidentaly forget the battery and the generator positive wire shorted it self for a second. And after that the dash lights started flickering, the abs, bulb and battery light started flickering and the other ones didin't even light up when i turned the ignission on.
Can someone help me with this issue?

check your fuses especially instrument fuse, and check the fuse at overvoltage relay

replace the overvoltage relay. the fuse may be blown but it did it's job when you shorted the battery cable. seen that a few times when people swap posts changing a battery. good luck, chuck.
