You need to pinch closed the small hose (that's part of the main hose molding from the tank) that routes to the backside of the accumulator before you remove it from the accumulator. I used a 1" C-clamp and did no harm.

Pelican should have the correct part number accumulator for your car. All are functionally the same, but have different physical design details to suit the application depending on make/model.

You mention clamping the large line. With what? Channel locks for instance? I would be afraid it would destroy the line or cause leaks but please advise.

Also- can someone please confirm the proper part number for a 1995 280sl?
Thank you

You need to pinch closed the small hose that routes to the backside of the accumulator before you remove it from the accumulator. On my 190E 2.6 it's molded integral with the large hose that supplies fuel from the tank to the pump/filter/accumulator cluster ahead of the LR tire. Once I removed the plastic cover the configuration was easily seen and analyzed as to what needed to be done to prevent fuel spillage.

The Pelican catalog has the correct Bosch part number for your car. All are functionally the same, but there are different physical design differences to suit the installation depending on make/model.
