my 99 A160(euroversion)sometimes gets its windows stuck when I switch it up or down. I still have to aid it w/my hand. The culprit is the rubber/felt lining along the window frame...what should I do?(it seems too tight) I heard it is a problem of E Class(w210) and S Class(w140).
I also cannot apply grease or oil bcoz it can deform the lining. This problem is worsening to the extent that the cable of the mechanism slipped off its plastic pulley and we had to rewind it manually.

The only thing that I know will help with this problem is spray silicon. Put the windows down & spray some on the felt, be careful & don't spray the paint.
