that price seems quite high. i've had to have 2 windshields put in my car. the first one on 8.17.00 was 139.44 windshield,35.00 install. total 184.91 this was a ppg [pittsburgh plate glass] one, a first rate supplier. they are oem for many cars this spring a rock killed it. i can't find the bill,it was on insurance. seems to me it was no more than 250.00 if you're paying, i'd shop around a little more [for oem or ppg] run like hell if you've never heard of the manufacturer. peter

Windshields
My '95 C280's windshield was a PPG with the logo in the lower corner. The following two replacements were both PPG with the logo at the center bottom. Otherwise identical. My '01 C320's glass is all Pilkington. I went to the glass shop that does all my dealer's work and yes, the car must remain at least all day and preferably overnight until the cement sets up. This is an edict from MB dating back at least five years.

I had mine replaced last year with a PPG one as well. No complaints. The total job was under $200.
BTW - You can get replacement Mercedes / Daimler Benz stickers on eBay for $3-$4. |
