I just purchased the vechicle with 30K on the clock. At pick up the compressor blew. Is this normal, and are there other known problems associated with this car?

Did the A/C compressor blow? Sometimes this could happen on a low mileage car I suppose because it hasn't been driven much and the system has laid dormant for some time. Upon initial start up the compressor doesn't have enough lubrication and there you go. Be sure to do the services properly!! ALL OF THEM...Including the valve adjustment and coolant change and brake change.

thanks for the reply. good news, just the hose ruptured coming from the compressor. when should i adjust the valves, coolant, and does the remaining belts, i.e. fan belt need immediate attention. i believe the car is a euro edition. the heating/cooling adjustments are the rotary dials, not the press button. i hope to enjoy many years with this rare auto.
