107 Steering Coupler

I am about to replace the steering coupler on my '80 450SL. There is not much room down there to do this job.Should I remove the steering box and try from that end of should I raise the steering column and go at it from that angel, or perhaps both? I just dont know, never done one before. Any help and tips are greatly appriciated.
THANKS
Bill

Check out this thread for some good info. It led me to plan my upcoming coupling change-out a little differently.
