How to change a battery in the Smart Key?
 

Hi There,

Could anyone please tell me how to change a battery in my 1998 E430 Smart Key. Is there a step by step instruction on how to do this?

Hi Mitul:

If your key is like my 98 C230, here are the instructions:

( A better question would have been 'Why the H did MB make it so hard to find the instructions on battery changing - it isn't in my owners manual index, and wasn't in the section on the smart key. I found it by accident looking through the back of the owners manual in the 'practical hints' section, right after the hint to "use a chrome cleaner" for regular cleaning of chrome plated parts.) :rolleyes:
