300 injector replacement
Hey can someone tell me how to change the injectors on a 87 300e. I read on here that the newer 300e injectors have a better spray pattern then the old ones.

Contact me privately and I will send you the info straight from my W124 CD manual.

I did it a few weeks ago on my '86 300E and found it almost as easy as changing the plugs. Start by removing air cleaner unit. Remove the fuel line at the injector. Remove the injector holder being careful not to round out the socket head screws. Pull out the injectors and seals. Reverse the sequence to install and use new seals.

Atikovi, why did you change them , and, did you see any marked improvement in performance or economy?

I didn't need any special tools, just a hex bit for the injector holder socket bolts. The car was hesitating when first taking off from a stop. New injectors didn't seem to help much, just smoothed out the idle a bit.

Stephen,
My 91 300SE would shake, rattle and roll for a few seconds before stabilizing at idle every time I started the car. New injectors fixed that. Just noticeably smoother idle (I suspect there are other problems). No improvement at speed (nothing to improve). I replaced the holders as well. It was difficult to fit the o-rings into the groove in the holders but that's as difficult as it got. An immeasurably small squirt of fuel came out of each fuel line. Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL |
