Spare w124 plug wire
Does anybody have a spare w124 spark plug wire for a 300E? My number 1 is shorting out to the block, just need one wire. Hate to have to buy an entire set. Just need a short one. Somebody must have yanked on it too hard at once point and broke it internally.

If you can't find one, might be able to make one out of any plug wire and reuse your ends. 103 motor or 104?
Good luck!!!

Understood, I've owned both but, I usually don't rely upon vehicles listed in members signatures as the one in question. Good luck!!!

It's an M103. The break is near the spark plug end, so maybe I can just reattach that end. The metal part is shorting out against the head.

3m rubber splicing tape (or any high temp electrical tape) will keep it from shorting until you get one\

On careful inspection, the ceramic at the spark plug end of the wire was cracked. So that's where it was shorting out to the heat shield. I removed the heatshield, and wrapped it all up in electrical tape. It seems to work fine now. I'll keep an eye out for a replacement, but at least it's not missing anymore. Thanks!
