the hot and cold air work fine in the front seats--But the vent unit located between the front seats facing the back seats-always blows cold air ---even if the hot air is on---there is a slide lever on this unit which does not seem to do anything--- whatever position it is in--what is this lever for and hopefully what are the solutions ---thank you for any answers

The vent you're describing is for ventilation only, fresh or Air cond. The heater outlets for the rear are under the seats. There is an adjustment for the cable to shut the rear vent off.

The adjustment point for the cable is behind the area where the ashtray & radio are mounted. They have to be removed to make any adjustment to the cable, good luck.
