Is there anyone out with a '89 560sec. I've read the archives about it being a great car. I'm thinking about buying it to replace the 2.3-16 for my wife. 100k for $11k. Seems reasonable?? What should I look at, or what items are due for replacement at 100k.
Thanks in advance. By the way, I love this web site. |

The price seems fair... My 560SEC is a 1986 model but they are identical to the 89th ones. You should look at the hydrolic system if there are no fluid going out of the "balloons" (situated at the rear, next to the wheels). Check out the noise of the engine. Look at the style of driving the owner has (too sportive wouldn't be too good for the engine at 100k). Check out which model of 117 type engine is bcause you have the 200kw model and the 220kw model (this one is a real formula 1 engine ) And well the usual things like if all the windows goes down, especialy the rear ones, and all the buttons function well...

Good car in general. Fair price if it has never been wrecked. Be sure to have the front suspension checked for wear. Big expense if not done.
