W111 Coupe Chrome removal

2 Attachment(s)
Hi all

In the process of removing the chrome on my coupe to get replated.

Done as much as I can but now looking for tips and advice on removing the strips on the front and rear window rubbers and all the chrome attachment to the side glass and around it?

Thanks

The window trim (front & rear & side) is not chrome plated but bright anodized aluminum. Make sure the shop that is refurbishing your trim has this type of experience. These trim pieces are easily bent both during removal and installation. I would recommend a professional body shop or auto glass shop for both removal and installation.

Hi, can you please confirm exactly which side bits are bright anodized Aluminium? As I’ve already sent the missing pieces from the photos to my Chromer?

As a former owner of a W111 coupe I can confirm that all of the side, front and rear window trim in your coupe is bright anodized aluminum. You should check with your plater that they have experience with bright aluminum anodizing.
