Is the Forum about any longer about Mercedes?

Just looked at the first ten new posts, eight are either political or a topic other than Mercedes ownership/repair. Two are Mercedes related, yes two. Just stating the math, the forum has changed.

Aren't there other forums than this that are more focused on the other topics working toward richer heartier discussions? Kind of like going to a plumbing supply house to buy lumber...

Good luck to all!!!

Ignore the OT section if you want to keep your sanity. I'm surprised that subforum is still around, just a bunch of grumpy folks arguing about who has the more flawed ideology.

Agree. I have wondered if the administrators could put that section at the bottom, below everything else. Just gets in the way of those for whom this forum was developed.

Agreed, it would be nice if the one-click "New Posts" search excluded posts in the Off Topic section. If someone wants to see those posts, they're easy to find by simply going to the OT section.

The forums are indeed about Mercedes-Benz cars and components; what they need not be about is the inability to use the English language.
The heading of this thread is:

"Is the Forum about any longer about Mercedes?"

What some of you see must be different from me. At the top of the page is Tech, 2nd is Diesel, third is Vintage/Classic.

I don't see anything from the open forum unless I scroll WAY down below all of the regional subforums. So it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Maybe all of those visits helps pay for the rest of us to talk about blue flying saucers and black death and vacuum leaks, etc.

I know traffic is down here somewhat, but I am very thankful this forum still exists to help us keep our wonderful cars on the road.

Yes Frank you are correct I made a mistake. Noticed it; however, I don't know how to correct the heading. Do you know how to correct post titles? I'd appreciate it if you could explain it to me. Been working from a phone for a while, but still trying to participate and help out others while learning.

Thanks again for pointing out my error. I'll be more careful next time, your contribution is duly noted. If you see any typos in this post kindly let me know.

If you get the chance please review my other posts over the past 19 years. I'm thinking that maybe there may be additional typos in them.

Maybe it would improve the forum if it had a proofreader; however, it's clear I'm not up to that task and I don't want that position. If you're interested you've got my vote!

Be well!!!

I see the same thing. Never see any off-topic posts.

Perhaps the phone app is different?

And Sugar Bear - I too would be very interested to know how a Subject line can be edited.

Subject lines have to be edited by someone with the moderator designation in that particular section. I can edit in open discussion but can't on tech forum. Contact the moderator for the section and ask them to correct it.

Well, I dunno what you are seeing. I originally clicked on the diesel section and no longer have to do that. But each time I open the forum and go to New Posts or Quick Links-Today's Posts, I see all these many, many threads and posts which are political. I just want to see threads about Mercedes - at least at the top of the list. This is on my laptop or my desktop.

Frank - I have wondered many times how to get the titles of my threads corrected when my fingers misspeak.

Now I know. It has been exasperating to see my mistake over and over again when I pull up one of those I created. Thanks.

yeah, i don't use those options (i don't even know where they are!)....i open the 'forums' page and see 'tech help' at the top and 'diesel discussion' right below....then scroll down to the classifieds.....i suppose most of the traffic here these days in the 'open discussion' forum, Lord have mercy, so the new posts search is going to do that....it would be nice if they would allow you to select (or deselect) forums you don't wish to follow.

I open "new posts" to see what all has been posted. I ban a lot of posters that their first post is porn links. Reviewing these post to determine whether they fall into what I call "porn" is quite exhausting.
