I have installed a set of the new Paltinum +4 in my 85 190E. It seems to run better than the copper core plugs that were in it when i bought it. I have heard some negative things about using platinum plugs in MB's. Some have said that only the older ones won't run right with platinums, but none could give me a definate reason as to why. Has anyone heard the same and what plug would you recommend? Thanks in advance!

I use only copper plugs in the older engines. These engines were designed for copper so why not use the correct ones for the application?? I do use the plat plugs in the later engines that come from the factory with them!

The plug wire ends on this model have a resistor built in. The original plugs are the non-resistor type. If you install resistor plugs such as the platinum type you are asking for trouble. Cold starts can become a real problem. Sometimes we don't do the best for our car spending more. Good Luck!
