It’s a 2016 C Class 4Matic with a 7speed double clutch transmission. Does anybody have experience with this tranny?

It’s a 2016 with 24,000 miles on it.

Is the Double clutch technology too new or problematic?

My mistake it is a CLA250 not C class 300

I spent a couple of weeks driving a CLA 250 a few years ago. The thing rode like an empty dump truck and the transmission took forever to find a gear if you needed quick acceleration from a moderate cruise speed. The four cylinder engine has good power, but was rough with lots of turbo lag.

Then there was the engine stop feature at stop lights. I could override, but had to push the button after every start, and the constant "beeping" from the various sensors that thought I was too close to another car... no thank you... I know how to adjust and use mirrors.

Overall I though it was a terrible car compared to my 190E 2.6 five-speed, but all modern cars have way too many nanny features.

I rented a 2015 or 2014 CLA back when it was brand new from htz I think. That car is a bag of bolts. It had no reddeming qualities what so ever. Interior is horribly cramped, the transmission drove like someone learning stick shift with 2 left feet. AC was anemic, seats were like sitting on a wood bench. I don't understand the people that buy these cars. Drive it on a bumpy road or in stop and go traffic. You'll see.

The newer cla s have been improved, the early one did ride like you explained, the later ones 18,19, 20 ride better, the dual disc clutch is improved ,a lot of car are starting to use that system

Dual-clutch trannies have a weird feeling when getting going, like a delay compared to the torque converter trannies. But they are fast shifting, and you can like them once you become friends with the paddle shifters.
The technology is very reliable; just make sure to follow the fluid change intervals.

Thanks guys. I’ve had these as loaners in the past but only for one day - 20 mile round trip with it at the max. I guess I’ll focus on a 2016 or 2017 c class with a cpo for the kid.

before we bought the 2014 E350 wagon - a CPO with 47,000 miles - we drove a GLC300 and my wife loved it. I drove it and hated it 1/2 mile down the road.

Fortunately my wife really trusts my instincts on such things and I told her she would get bored after one month of driving this thing.

No road feel at all - you really can't tell how fast you're going without looking at speedo.

3 years later my wife still says " I love that wagon'.

BOOM!
