'96 E320 W210 Fuel problem?

Hello Forum,
Car turns over, but wouldn't start. Mechanic said it was Fuel Pump, and replaced pump. Car now turns over, with occasional rumble in rear. It starts easier when cold, but when HOT it turns over but DOESN"T start until given some gas with pedal....frustrated.....Thanks

need to check fuel pressure. the pressure regulator is part of the fuel filter and may be bleeding off. a new pump SHOULD have gotten a new filter.
