Shipping a car to the US
Does anyone have any experience in shipping a car into the US from abroad? I may be relocating to the US and I would like to bring my 1985 190E with me. As far as I can tell, the car was originally sold in the US and brought to Peru, where I have it now. The speedo is in miles, etc. A previous owner removed the catalytic converter, but otherwise the car is US legal.
I'm just looking for general information and maybe some recommendations on car transport firms.

The tree huggers here make it very difficult to bring in a non certified car. That said, since this is a US equipped car, you should have little trouble. You will, however, have to replace the catalytic converter and see that the car can pass emmissions tests.
Good luck, |

You may need those ridiculous looking oversized bumpers too? Or is that only on new cars sold in US?
