96 C280 EGR Scan Code #P0400
 

Hi

I just pulled the OBDll scan code for the 96 C280 and it returned a P0400 (Exhaust Gas Recirulation Flow). Is this the code for a defective EGR valve?

Any information will be appreciated.

It could be a defective EGR valve, or could be indicating low EGR flow.

A common problem with these M104 engines is that the hot inlet pipe to the intake manifold gets clogged up from the EGR vapors.
