Bumper Impact Strip Removal/Installation

I just bit the bullet and bought a pair of pre-painted "European" front bumper impact strips (without side marker lights) for my 2000 E430 Sport.

Can anyone out there clue me in on the proper removal/installation of these things?

It is my understanding that they snap in. Key thing is how to easily/safely get the old strips out?

Someone told me to use a "wedge" tool to pop them out, similar to what is used on door panels.

THE BEST THING IS TO REMOVE THE BUMPER TO UNCLIP FROM THE INSIDE. IT HAS ( I THINK ) 4 SCREWS TO HOLD THE BUMPER.
