R129 convertible top
 

I have a 1997 SL600 and have been having a problem with the convertible top. In order for the top to go down, I have to press the console button several times and sometimes while the top is going down it will stop midway through the cycle and I need to reverse the direction once or twice before it retracts the full way. I took it to the shop and and they said the error coddle indicated that I needed a new micro switch and it would be 100%. After a couple of days the same issue recurred. I would appreciate any help in trying to resolve this. Thank you.
