Undo the 10mm bolt at the rear of the seat beat rail. Use the motors to slide the seat forward and raise the seat as high as it will go.

See if you can carefully remove the two 10mm at the rear of the seat base the hold the base to the floor. If the carpet has been wet for a long time the two rear bolts can be a serious pain to remove. If the bolts come out you'll be able to easily remove the front two bolts holding the base to the floor, undo the electrical connectors and lift out the seat.

If the two rear bolts don't come out, then you have a bigger problem.

The weather has turned horrible over here so I decided that scrubbing the crap out of the interior was a better past-time than sitting inside. I cleared out all the drains the other day and so far (knock on wood) I've not seen any new leaks. The drains were - as expected - thoroughly disgusting, but they're flowing well now.

Before:

After:

The rest of the rear boards are coming up well too. Underneath the many layers of filth is a car in decent condition it seems!

The original spare wheel is still present too:

The wheel well is totally solid too. I just took the rubber drainage plug out to give it a good clean up too. There's a bit of rust starting to come up inside the window seal on the driver's side so I'll be putting that right sharpish!

As requested, here's the engine bay. I'd like to get a standard airbox back in there sometime to replace the K&N/whatever, but I don't consider it a huge deal.

I also took out the tie-down loops as they need some love. The front ones look like they've been at the bottom of the ocean. They're currently soaking in a container of Pepsi (better use for it than drinking it in my opinion ).

That's all for now!

Can you explain the delayed shift a bit and what the car does?

I'll have to make a video if it to demonstrate it best. It should actually be pretty easy given it has the straight-through exhaust

Also, I started a proper resto/project thread in the correct section for now. A lot of regurgitated stuff up to this point but I thought updates were better posted there in the long-term. Post is at this link.

That terrible air filter on there isn't doing the engine any favors....I'd get that back to stock ASAP.

i'm glad i got to the part where you went back to buy it! $100 should never stop you from buying a running, driving car that you can actually drive home in......good luck with the wagon!

Tackled this today on the passenger's side. Got a rounded bolt remover socket on there from the word go rather than a regular 10mm having soaked the bolt (rear right one - the crusty one!) overnight and it came off easily. Just pulled the seat out now but it's pouring rain and dark now, so I'll continue tomorrow. Need to sand down the rust on the seat frame and then re-coat it. I'm also thinking perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to get the carpet dry cleaned whilst it's accessible!
