Need help (W124) Cabrio
 

I know how to remove the tops on every other MB, but the (W124) convertable is a tricky little bugger. The problem is there is no way to power up the car, b/c of an engine fire. We need to remove the top and can't figure out how. The leading edge is no problem, it is just the rear. Any thoughts or experiences ???:confused: ;)

WHEN LOOKING THRU THE REAR GLASS FROM INSIDE, THERE IS A METALL STRIP BELOW THE GLASS WITH PHILLIP HEAD SCREWS IN IT. REMOVE THEM & THE METAL. YOU WILL FIND AN OPENING WITH 2 5.5 MM NUTS. REMOVE THOSE. YOU WILL THEN FIND 2 10 MM NUTS. REMOVE THOSE & THE REAR LATCH WILL COME OFF. THEN YOU CAN LIFT UP THE REAR PORTION. THERE IS A SPECIAL TOOL TO RELEASE THE COMPARTMENT LID.
