1995 E320 wagon - nasty noise from the passenger's side rear
Hi folks,
Just changed a broken push link on my 1995 E320 wagon. Just put everything back together, everything looks perfectly normal but how there's a horrific noise coming from the passenger side rear wheel (same axel as where I replaced the link) <iframe width="851" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/5Pofk1HN_5Y" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Both axels turning: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lai-71Yk1Ow" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The car was up on stands running with both wheels removed in Drive. Seems there's some brake binding on both sides (car was sitting before I bought it) but other than that everything seems normal - from my visual inspection at least. Probably academic, but here's images of both sides of the suspension. Looks normal/the same on each side to me: Passenger side rear https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...4190d09f_z.jpg Driver side rear https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...92531ed9_z.jpg Any thoughts? This "daily" isn't working out too well so far    Thanks! |
Probably just some crusty things from sitting. Apply the parking brake LIGHTLY to see if it changes the noise, if yes its in the parking brake shoes.
Good luck!!! |
