Fuel pressure question for 1986 Mercedes 190e 2.6
 

My friend has a 1986 Mercedes 190e 2.6 and it wont stay running. It will start and run but it wont stay idle. He is asking me what the fuel pressure should be for his particular motor, but I'm thinking he may just need a new fuel pump or a regulator (not sure about the car). Has anyone had that issue or know what the fuel pressure should be for that particular engine? Or had that same issue? I found data on the 2.3, but not a 2.6.

Can the engine be kept running above idle with the throttle? If so, it's unlikely that fuel pressure is the culprit.
In any event, KE-Jetronic (CIS-E) operates at a minimum pressure of 78psi for a single pump system, up to 90psi for dual pump systems.

If the fuel filter has not been changed in years, I would suspect it's the problem. Fuel filters should be changed every 60,000 miles in that vintage vehicle.

Failure of the fuel accumulator is not uncommon. Usual symptom is hard starting - long cranking time that is intermittent, but gets more frequent over time.
