C280 to c43 Conversion

How difficult is it to convert a 2000 c280 to a C43?
Does a 2000 C280 V6 have the same engine mounting locations?
What would be needed to do this conversion?

Hi Steve I haven’t heard from you in a while how you doing ? I know that the V6 and the in-line 6 have different bolt pattern they might have the same mounting location and to do a conversion it’s better to have a donor

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I am doing good. Hope all is well.
I would like to get a C280 and a donor c43 that might be wrecked and put the C43 engine in the C280.

If you were going to do this sort of swap it would not make any sense to install a 4.3. You might as well install the 5.4 m113. You would need all of the ecu's and bits from a C43 though.

A friend at work has done the conversion 280 to e55 m113 motor it was easy, bought a wrecked car swapped out motor into c , its super torquey

You already have a wrecked c43? Finding one might be an issue if you don’t. 5.5 are easier to find

Would a swap inro a v6 c280 require cutting and welding of the engine mount area? I don't imagine a v8 drops straight into a v6 C280, or does it?

Reason for asking is that it is difficult finding a C43.
It is easier for me to find a 1999 -2000 Mercedes C280 in a color combo I like.
