C280 to c43 Conversion
How difficult is it to convert a 2000 c280 to a C43?
Does a 2000 C280 V6 have the same engine mounting locations? What would be needed to do this conversion? |

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I am doing good. Hope all is well. I would like to get a C280 and a donor c43 that might be wrecked and put the C43 engine in the C280. . |
If you were going to do this sort of swap it would not make any sense to install a 4.3. You might as well install the 5.4 m113. You would need all of the ecu's and bits from a C43 though.

A friend at work has done the conversion 280 to e55 m113 motor it was easy, bought a wrecked car swapped out motor into c , its super torquey

You already have a wrecked c43? Finding one might be an issue if you don’t. 5.5 are easier to find

Would a swap inro a v6 c280 require cutting and welding of the engine mount area? I don't imagine a v8 drops straight into a v6 C280, or does it?

Reason for asking is that it is difficult finding a C43.
It is easier for me to find a 1999 -2000 Mercedes C280 in a color combo I like. |
