Super Easy Power Steering Question
2 Attachment(s)
Hey guys, happy 4th.
I have a super dumb and easy question (I hope) for my 72 250. I am unable to get my PS pump to move to replace the belt. There is a 17mm bolt top and one below that are loose and then I tried adjusting out the 10mm adjustment screws as shown. But if I try to lever it, I move the whole engine. What am I missing? Its not rusted together, there is really no rust on this car... do I need to take off the bracket which looks held on my 2 allens? See attached pics please. |

On these cars the pump slides side-to-side after you loosen the bolts and that smaller "clamping screw". Looks like there are the two bolts up front behind the pulley, and then one in the rear (#4 in the photo below). Might be hard to see from above, obscured by the strut. When you loosen that one the pump should move. There's no need to remove the entire bracket.
