W124 blower motor ..

95 e320 I replaced the blower motor a few years back and until recently noticed that it doesn’t blow as hard as my other 2 w124s. It’s always been that way but never occurred to me.

I have the blower box and everything apart, is there a way to tell if I might have put the cage on backwards or something? Which direction is it supposed to spin?

Spins counter clockwise. Does this look correct?

it's been years since i had one apart but the way the blades are cupped it seems to suggest that it has to spin that way to grab air....
edit: here is a picture from the tutorial from this site.....seems to be installed the same way

Centrifugal blower vanes can be arranged either forward curved (as shown), reverse curved, or straight, as related to the direction of rotation of the wheel.
The reverse curve is more efficient and was probably the original choice here. The trade-off is a bit more noise, but no one will fault an automotive blower for that.
And if the cages are turned around, the hamsters will never notice.

Everything seems to be how it should be. Would the bad regulator not give it the full juice?

Very easy to find out since you have 2 good working w124. Just swap in the parts from the good car.

IMHO, it's all in your mind.

They’re not parts cars. Fully functional running cars that get driven by my wife, daughter and i

You don't need parts car to swap parts. Just time.

Just by pass the regulator by putting 12 volts directly to the blower motor. that will rule out or rule in a regulator issue. You can energize it via three prong plug near the brake booster on the firewall.

I don’t like using a perfectly working vehicle as a parts car it’s bad vuju. The hvac parts on these cars are plastic and brittle. Could easily have 2 cars with messed up ac when it’s 113 out.
