My 1985 500 SEC stalls intermittently, under no specific circumstances, and without warning such as sputtering from running out of fuel. If i leave the car alone for about 2 or 3 minutes, it will start again and runs great like nothing happened! Happens sporadically, and is not related to any specific condition such as highway driving, or idling at a red light, etc. It happens anywhere, and at any time! Any suggestions? I've heard a lot of mechanics saying its the fuel pump, but the fuel pump has great pressure and shows no signs of irregular flow. How about the fuel pump relay? Would that have anything to do with it? Most of the fuel system is new, new injectors, new fuel distributor, and the fuel pump is only about 2 years old.
