I tried starting my car today, but all it did was crank up and not start. The battery is fine, could it be the glow plugs? How can I tell if they are? Are these easy to replace?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |
I had a similar problem with my 84 300D. It turned out that the fuel pump (from fuel tank to the injection pump) had to be replaced. However, the little I know tells me that this is only one of many possible causes for such behaviour.

Does the glow light act normally? If two of more of the glow plugs goes out or #1 burns out the light does work weird.

My 83 300cd (155K miles) had a starting problem that turned out to be the pre-glow circuit relay module, a $120 part that was simple to replace, however, this is just one of serveral possibilities.
