Water in the Trunk of '96 C280

I am in Austin, TX currently and it has been raining for about a week straight. I recently found a puddle of water under the trunk cover in the far left hand side of trunk. The right side of trunk was dry thank god, but I dont know if this is a big deal or not. It has been raining really hard so this could just be fluke. Was wondering what you guys suggest.

Thanks

Remove the panel on the left side and get in the trunk with a flashlight. Have soeone spray the outside with the trunk closed with a hose and you will be able to see what is leaking.

A tech at work bought a used 98 C280 with the identical problem, his ended up being a leak at the base of the rear window on the left side. His was complicated by the fact he has the Bose amplifier, which was shorted out and ruined by the water. He had to run water for quite awhile before the leak showed up, it collected in the double panel under the rear hat shelf area, then would eventually start dribbling out of a hole that was put in the bottom panel at the factory.
