1991 300E anemic fan blower

1991 300E with about 175,000 miles. The fan blower in all climate mode settings puts out a very low volume of air. If the HI fan is selected, it puts out marginally more air than AUTO or LO, but still terrible (and no good for cooling off a car after a day in the 100 degree sun). I checked the voltages coming off the three pin connector on the firewall (by the brake booster), and they read zero (!)... yet the fan still barely works. Any ideas on this one?

On a related note, does anyone know how to remove the buttons off of the front of the CCU? I thought about checking/re-soldering the solder joints for the CCU buttons to see if that would help, but the front panel doesn't come off without removing the pushbuttons.

thanks in advance,
anthony

Your blower motor regulator may have gone south.

Lightbulb Brushes?

Could be the blower motor brushes!

Thanks! Turns out it was the blower fan regulator, and when they took the blower motor out, found out it the brushes were almost done with (but still working) too. So we replaced both!
